Не хочу выставлять себя знатоком английского, но в статье на которую ты указал явно говорится, что "The collapses ... were separately initiated in the impact zone of each tower due to failure of the columns.

В отчете опровергается идея разрушения ферм (trusses), и указывается на причину падения в разрушении колонн. И речь идет о внешних и внутренних колоннах. "Failure of the floors" в статье означает разрушение ферм поддерживающих пол. А не само падение пола, как может быть ты это интерпретировал. "the engineers claim that computer modeling shows that the failure of columns alone, independent of the floors explains the collapses."

Там же и приводятся диаграммы со словами "severely heat-affected exterior columns with no remaining strength", "heat-affected exterior columns with fireproofing knocked off"

Эта статья полностью соответсвует моей точке зрения, а не опровергает ее. Уважу и это мнение тоже :)

продублирую факты, которые меня сильно смущают.

Total objectivity is of course impossible. Subjectively, for this author, several subevents of the WTC collapses stand out: the reported seismic spikes associated with the collapses; the observed near free-fall times of collapse; the pyroclastic clouds of debris; and the pools of molten steel found in the basement of the WTC tower complex, steel still warm weeks after 9-11. Analysis of the seismic spikes indicate that the seismic spikes correlate with the collapses themselves rather than any pre-collapse explosion [Ref. (4)].
