Every morning, a cruise ship appears a hundred meters away from my window. I am awakened by its horn and a voice on the loudspeaker giving instructions to the passengers. The ships are called Topaz, Inspiration, Blue Diamond, Freewind. They carry hundreds of people and they have swimming pools and palm trees. These boats arouse my imagination.
Their movement is slow, even human. It is absurdly surreal to see through the openings in the blinds someone jogging laps around the deck. The swaying of the ship brings back memories of the beauty of my home.
The nostalgia of farewells always stirs deep emotions, even though we were not many waving good-bye to these passing visitors.
